Alignment Classes
We are excited to offer 3 Different Alignment Classes over the next few months. Read about each and choose the best one, two or three for you!
Functional Motion Class:
South Suburban has been offering the Functional Motion class for almost 2 years and class members rave about how much better their body feels and functions after each class.
The Functional Motion class will:
- Help restore balance and strength through gentle postural alignment exercises
- Help reduce both chronic & occasional pain
- Improve full range of motion
Functional Motion is offered at the following South Suburban Recreational Centers: Goodson • Lone Tree Click on a Rec Center listed above and type "Functional Motion" into Keywords to sign up.
Classes are limited to 15 people so sign up soon!
$125 for 12 classes - In District Resident
$135 for 12 classes - Non District Resident

Foundation Training Class:
This class differs from the Functional Motion class in that it is more rigorous and demanding. While the exercises are not going to produce blood, sweat and tears, they are going to require a higher level of exertion than Functional Motion.
Foundation Training is designed for the entire spectrum of age and ability. From Olympic athletes to all ages and fitness abilities, everyone can benefit from Foundation Training because it teaches your body to move as it was designed to move. Minimal equipment is necessary and it can be done just about anywhere.
Foundation Training is offered at the following South Suburban Recreational Centers: Goodson • Lone Tree Click on a Rec Center listed above and type "Foundation Training" into Keywords to sign up.

For years I have had ongoing neck, back, hip, knee and feet pain and stiffness with intermittent shin splints and plantar fasciitis. Rolling out of bed each morning, I despaired that I felt like an old woman at 43 - what would I feel like at age 50, 60 or 70? I had always been very fit and just coped with it all as best as I could; stretching (A LOT) seeing chiropractors, doing yoga, having the occasional massage when I could afford it. These all helped temporarily, but the pain and stiffness would always return. Gradually, I worked out less and less. When hearing my complaints, she would passionately tell me about the Egoscue Method and strongly urge me to come see her or at least just read his book "Pain Free", which after several months I finally started to (I'm stubborn sometimes). All I can say is WOW!

Amazing, truly amazing! I had chronic neck and back pain which made it difficult to walk or stand upright. I felt I was doomed to have some gawdawful drugs or surgery. But after a few weeks of treatment/exercise, I can walk without pain and I can stand straight. Heartily recommend this before you try something drastic.

Just started functional movement classes at the local rec center and I'm both amazed and fascinated with how these simple exercises seem to make such a difference. I have back, hip, neck, shoulder pain that always feels better after class and Stasia is a great teacher. I can't wait to try some "one on one" sessions and read the Egoscue book.
